Christine Theiss on "The Biggest Loser" - Why she loves her job on the Sat.1 show

The upcoming season of the Sat.1 show "The Biggest Loser - Life Made Easy" is attracting attention with some minor changes even before the start. As the broadcaster announced in mid-November, the show will run every Monday in primetime from January 8 - and therefore no longer on Sunday afternoons as usual. Secondly, the position of former kickboxing world champion Dr. Christine Theiss (43) as camp boss will be abolished, at least in its previous form.

"This will be something very special this time," Theiss told the news agency spot on news on Monday evening (December 4) at the "Mon Chéri Barbara Tag" in Munich. Both she and her trainer and fellow presenter Ramin Abtin (51) will each take on a team and compete against each other: "I'm challenging my treasured friend and legendary trainer Ramin Abtin and then we'll see who wins in the end. We don't know ourselves yet, we're still in the middle of it. It will definitely be exciting," says Theiss.

For Theiss, the close proximity to the participants was also new: "I was usually always closer to the candidates than you saw on camera. But now, of course, it felt like I was with them 24 hours a day. That's a very intense time. Experiencing the stories much more closely was also a new experience for me. I'm very happy that we made this change because I love my job there."

What else is known about season 16

A total of 23 contestants are declaring war on their excess pounds this time. In addition to the title of"The Biggest Loser 2024", there is also prize money of 50,000 euros up for grabs. Viewers can look forward to ten new episodes of the weight-loss show. In addition to Sat.1, the show will also be shown on the streaming platform Joyn.
