Actress Olivia Munn - Wedding after the fight against breast cancer
Four months after actress Olivia Munn (44) revealed her "shocking" cancer diagnosis in March, she married her biggest support: "Saturday Night Live"-star John Mulaney (41). The couple got married secretly over the weekend in a simple, intimate ceremony at a friend's house in the state of New York, according to the American "People"-Magazine.
Munn's parents got married shortly after her birthday on July 3, 1980, in a small ceremony with only one witness and their son present. The "X-Men: Apocalypse"-actress and the stand-up comedian have been officially together since 2021. Since then, they have experienced ups and downs.
First Relationship Milestone: Cancer
In February 2023, Olivia Munn was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was able to speak publicly about the shock and aftermath in the spring. She talked about her double mastectomy and the reconstruction of her breasts. In total, she had four surgeries in ten months. In addition, she underwent a hysterectomy in April 2024 to remove her uterus.
During this time, the American actress could only think about her then one-year-old son: "I wasn't someone who was obsessed with death or had any fear of it," she told "People"-Magazine. "But having a little baby at home made everything much scarier." With a picture from her hospital bed that she shared on her Instagram account in March, she wanted to "support others on their journey."
Her current husband stood by her side and praised her in an interview with "Vogue" for her strength: "Olivia and I have been through many things together in the last years. Side by side, supporting each other. And as her husband, I felt both anxious and protective. Even with Malcolm on her lap and me by her side, holding her hand, she fought this cancer alone physically."
John Mulaney, Olivia Munn's supportive husband, is known for his work on Saturday Night Live. The couple's wedding, held in secret in New York, came after Munn's diagnosis of breast cancer in February 2023. Despite the cancer, Munn's primary concern was her one-year-old son, sharing a photo from her hospital bed to encourage others. Mulaney admired Munn's strength during this challenging period. After her surgeries and hysterectomy, she continued to speak publicly about her experiences, showing resilience and courage.
