As children, we're taught not to jump into water if we can't gauge its depth. Actor Zac Efron seems to have skipped that lesson, as recent details of his pool accident in Ibiza suggest.

On Saturday morning, an incident occurred that led to the 36-year-old being transported to a hospital on the Balearic island. News of his hospitalization spread rapidly, but the details of what happened remained unclear.

Now, American gossip website "TMZ" is reporting details of the accident. On Saturday morning, Efron jumped into the pool at his vacation home with such enthusiasm that he hit the bottom with his chest. This caused "a large amount of water to enter his lungs," according to a source who spoke to "TMZ."

Zac Efron's hospital visit was primarily a precaution

Efron reportedly felt shortness of breath and discomfort, prompting security personnel to rush to the scene. He appeared "disoriented" for a short time due to the shock and events, so he was taken to the hospital as a precaution. There, doctors drained his lungs to ensure no water remained in his airways. After a short time, doctors gave him the all-clear to leave. However, he took his time due to the crowd that had gathered outside the hospital.

On Sunday, he appeared to be in good health, updating his fans on Instagram. In his story, he was seen working out on a gym ball, lifting weights while wearing only swim trunks. He dedicated the post to his fans, writing "Happy and healthy - thank you for the well wishes."
