Chris Martin - Voluntary café service with heart
Chris Martin (46) has spent a day working in a charity café for the homeless. On Saturday, the Coldplay frontman collected money for people without a roof over their heads with his shift at the Crisis branch in Finsbury Park, London.
The singer regularly volunteers for homeless charities. During the Christmas period, he usually puts in a shift at the warehouse, as the Sun reports. However, after no one was needed there this year, Martin was asked to do a more public shift at the café.
Matt Downie, manager of the store, shared pictures of the special shift on X, formerly Twitter. While working, Martin wore a gray cap and a shirt that read "Love is the drug". In one photo, Martin is standing behind the counter of the coffee shop serving guests, while in another he is posing with the employees.
Boss raves about Chris Martin
"A very special guest has been working in the Finsbury Park @crisis_uk store today..." the manager enthused about the temporary employee in his post. He continued, "Chris Martin is a valued, long-time supporter and volunteer. One of the nicest people you could meet."
Crisis Cafes have been working to end homelessness for 18 years. Among other things, they offer training in the hospitality industry to help people out of homelessness.
