Vladimir Putin reaffirms Moscow's military goals in the Ukraine war
Russian President Vladimir Putin has reaffirmed Moscow's military goals in the Ukraine conflict. "There will be peace when we have achieved our goals," Putin said at his end-of-year press conference in Moscow on Thursday.
With its offensive launched in February 2022, Russia wants to continue to achieve "the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine and its neutral status".
The annual press conference, which is attended by hundreds of Russian and foreign journalists, usually lasts for hours. During the conference, the Russian head of state answers questions live on a wide range of topics. Last year, Putin did not hold his traditional press conference at the end of the year.
