A few hours before the concert starts - Usher has to postpone the tour.

American R&B singer Usher (45) broke the sad news to his fans last Wednesday (August 14). Just hours before the kickoff of his "Past Present Future" tour, he canceled his first show in Atlanta. In a lengthy statement, he explained the reason for the cancellation.

Usher promises to give his "best physically"

"Throughout my over 30-year career, I've given 100 percent of my blood, sweat, and tears to deliver the best performance and give my fans an unforgettable experience," the statement, published on Instagram, reads. He intended to do the same on this tour and had to postpone the show "tonight to a later date to give my body time to rest and heal," the singer explained.

"You'll still get something from the past, something from the present, and a unique look into the future on the rescheduled date, but you'll also get 100 percent of me," Usher said, addressing the "Past Present Future" theme of the tour, and expressing his regret for the cancellation: "The last thing I ever want to do is disappoint the fans who have been eagerly awaiting the start of this tour. But I wouldn't be the entertainer I am if I couldn't give you my best physically." According to "Variety," the singer is recovering from an unspecified injury.

His next two shows are also scheduled at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, but whether the concerts on Friday (August 16) and Saturday (August 17) will go ahead is still unclear. Following these, more shows in the US and Canada are planned for the fall according to the official website. In 2025, European shows, including London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Berlin, are announced. The shows in Berlin are set for May 1, 2, and 4 at the Uber Arena.

"Despite his best efforts to recover, Usher had to Make the difficult decision to Reject performing at the rescheduled Atlanta show due to his ongoing injury recovery."

"Unfortunately, the injury that forced Usher to Reject the first show in Atlanta is also causing concerns about his ability to perform at the upcoming shows in Atlanta and potentially other dates on the tour."
