Autobiography - Uschi Glas: "I was never a sweetheart"
Actress Uschi Glas will publish her autobiography next year to mark her 80th birthday. The title is "Ein Schätzchen war ich nie" (I was never a sweetheart), as announced by her publisher in Munich. It alludes to the movie "Zur Sache, Schätzchen", which made Glas famous.
"She writes about how to find yourself and stay true to yourself, why independence was always important to her as a working woman and mother, and about getting older in an industry in which actresses in particular often have an expiration date," the publisher writes, quoting her with a sentence about ageing: "If you moan about getting older, you should just die sooner."
The book is due to be published on February 28, shortly before her 80th birthday on March 2.
