James McCaffrey - US actor dies at the age of 65
The US actor and voice actor James McCaffrey is dead. According to media reports, the artist of Irish descent died of cancer at the age of 65. As first reported by the celebrity portal "TMZ", a spokesperson for McCaffrey announced that he died on Sunday surrounded by his friends and family. He had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare cancer originating in the bone marrow.
His friend and colleague Kevin Dillon (58) has also confirmed McCaffrey's death. He shared a photo of himself and McCaffrey on Instagram and wrote: "We were lucky to know you, my best friend, we will miss you." The deceased actor was well-known thanks to numerous film and series engagements. He took on his first roles in the early 90s in series such as "Viper", "New York Undercover" and "Swift Justice". He also appeared in successful series such as "Sex and the City", "Criminal Intent", "Rescue Me" and "Beautiful People", sometimes in recurring roles.
