Unknown individuals hurl an inflammable gadget at the residence of an AfD politician.

The ongoing wave of assaults on German politicians persists, with yet another attack reported in Halle, Saxony-Anhalt. An anonymous group hurled rocks and an incendiary device towards the house of a local AfD councilor, setting a doormat ablaze. Thankfully, a resident was able to quell the fire. This is just the latest incident in a series that have unfolded in recent weeks.

Police are now actively conducting a thorough investigation, searching for answers to this attack on an AfD city councillor's detached home in Halle an der Saale. Late Sunday night, unidentified individuals allegedly began pelting the house with stones, before proceeding to throw an incendiary device, fortunately failing to ignite anything significant. The same vandals also broke windows in the property. Fortunately, no one was harmed.

With the potential for political motives, authorities have opted to involve the State Security Police. They are currently investigating the case as a possible case of aggravated arson and property destruction. Forensic officers were on the scene collecting evidence, and the use of a tracking dog did not result in the capture of any suspects. It's been reported that a city councilor running for the AfD in upcoming local elections lives in the targeted house.

This violent act coincides closely with other recent incidents targeting politicians belonging to various parties. In Stuttgart, two AfD politicians were sustained injuries after being assaulted in front of the state parliament, just days before a celebration of the 75th anniversary of Germany's Basic Law. Additionally, Green Party member of parliament, Kai Gehring, and his party colleague Rolf Fliß were victims of an unforeseen aggression in Essen. The tormentors had initially aimed to take selfies, but for some reason, their intentions suddenly changed.
