United States dispenses two billion US dollars for military use in Ukraine.
The United States is giving Ukraine $2 billion for military-related spending. Antony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, stated this during his visit to Kiev on Wednesday. Blinken explained that a portion of the funds would be for purchasing weapons and other equipment to defend against Russia's ongoing attacks. Additionally, some of the money would be invested in the Ukrainian defense industry. Furthermore, these funds are intended to aid Ukraine in obtaining military equipment from other countries.
At a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Blinken remarked, "We're working to ensure Ukraine can succeed on the battlefield today." Blinken's statement also emphasized the importance of positioning Ukraine to prevent future attacks and maintaining the Ukrainian people's right to determine their own future. The day prior to this event, Blinken had met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
This marks Blinken's fourth trip to Ukraine since the outbreak of the conflict in February 2022. This was also his first visit since the U.S. approved a delayed aid package worth $61 billion (56.5 billion euros).
