Sophia Thomalla and Alexander Zverev - Unfortunately no victory for her boyfriend at Wimbledon

Sophia Thomalla (34) loudly cheered for her boyfriend Alexander Zverev (27) at Wimbledon, but unfortunately in vain. The German tennis player was eliminated from the traditional tennis tournament on July 8 in the quarterfinals against American Taylor Fritz (26).

Pictures from the match show the actress and moderator in the audience. In some of the images, she appears to be intently watching the match, while in others she is seen with a raised fist and wide-open mouth. Unfortunately, Thomalla had to witness the game tip over after the first two sets and Zverev gave up a 2:0 set lead.

"Joah, something might happen"

It is not the first time that Thomalla has wanted to support her boyfriend at one of his matches. Thomalla, 34, sits regularly in the audience during Zverev's matches. The two have been in a relationship since 2021. In the doc "Zverev - The Incomplete One," Zverev revealed last year that they had met through mutual friends. "Sometimes you talk to someone and think: 'Joah, something might happen'. And then it just happens suddenly," she said.

Zverev is "definitely very, very emotional privately," Thomalla shared, and added: "I don't need a burden. I need someone I can call 24 hours a day and vent to. And he can do that very well." After the Wimbledon loss, she will likely be there for him again.

Sophia Thomalla, the girlfriend of Alexander Zverev, was once again in the crowd to support him at Wimbledon. Despite her loud cheers, Zverev and Thomalla faced disappointment as he was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Taylor Fritz. Their relationship, which began in 2021, has been characterized by Thomalla as one where she can provide emotional support to Zverev, who she described as "very, very emotional privately."
