Forensic biologist Inga Ehrenberg (Anne Ratte-Polle) is so engrossed in her work at the Institute of Forensic Medicine that she doesn't realize how lonely she is after separating from her husband. It is only when her father (Jörg Gudzuhn) claims that she has a half-sister (Olga von Luckwald) and a falconer (Dennis Pörtner) asks her to take in a young falcon that she is caught up in a maelstrom of long-hidden, painful emotions. She begins to domesticate the falcon, firmly convinced that the bird will never leave her. At the same time, she has to deal with the discovery of a dead baby whose identity is unclear, and with two other cases.
