Chief investigator Sascha Bergmann (Hary Prinz) from Graz is quite happy for his partner Sandra Mohr (Miriam Stein) to work overtime. He prefers to take his colleague Eva Merz (Eva Herzig) from the forensics department with him on a routine case in the hills of Eastern Styria so that he can spend a romantic weekend with her. The death of mountain farmer Johann Hödlgruber (Helmut Berger) clearly appears to have been a suicide in a drunken stupor. On closer inspection, however, Eva notices evidence that points to murder.

But when he travels to remote Parkersburg to see for himself, his opinion changes abruptly. The lawyer sees shocking evidence of the poisoning of the cattle with his own eyes: black teeth, huge tumors and terrible deformities. With the backing of his head lawyer, he files a lawsuit.
