His wife Regina (Johanna Gastdorf) and daughter Freya (Lena Dörrie) testify that they were attacked by two Santa Clauses in disguise. One of them shot Reuter. A spicy case for the Sylt detectives, because Hinnerk Feldmann (Oliver Wnuk) is secretly in a relationship with Freya.

BKA officer Ben (Kostja Ullmann) wakes up from an induced coma after a failed mission. The bodyguard has to come to terms with the fact that he was unable to prevent the death of a girl. To recover, he travels to the Baltic Sea with his girlfriend Marion (Kristin Suckow). It is the first visit to his parents in years and at the same time a return to a place of painful memories. Back then, when he was still a child, there was a mysterious accident involving his best friend Timmi (Ilja Bultmann), whom Ben has been mourning ever since. The violent death of a business lawyer confronts Nina Petersen (Katharina Wackernagel) and her colleagues with a complex case that goes back to the post-reunification period. Johannes Kellermann (Neithardt Riedel) is found shot dead in his villa. Initial investigations point to a robbery-murder. But when a manifesto appears in which a group claims responsibility for the murder and announces the "Death of Medusa", the case takes an explosive turn.

Young Magdalena (Laura-Charlotte Syniawa) is one of those lost souls who trust Maximilian Bloch (Dieter Pfaff) and can rely on his unreserved commitment. Magdalena is in hospital because her body refuses to eat. The doctors are unable to find an organic cause for her suffering, and even artificial nutrition is not working. Bloch's ex-wife Annegret (Eva Kryll), Magdalena's attending physician, calls Bloch for help.
