Trusted Advisor Patrushev stays by Putin's side
Vladimir Putin is reorganizing his Russian government following his re-election as president. This includes replacing some long-time officials in exchange for new ones, as well as keeping a few close confidants near him. Patriushov, a trusted advisor, has been moved from his position as Secretary of the Russian Security Council to become the president's advisor on shipbuilding. This role seems like a demotion.
Patriushov is a key figure in Putin's circle, known for his role in Russia's strive for greatness and his role in the aggressive war against Ukraine. The 72-year-old will now focus on a more specific area, but it's unclear if he'll still have any say in strategic decisions.
Meanwhile, Putin has kept some key players in their positions such as Anton Vayno, the head of his presidential administration, as well as his deputies Alexei Gromov and Sergei Kiriyenko. Spokespeople Dmitry Peskov also remains, via state news agency TASS. Maxim Oreshkin, a former Minister for Economic Development, has taken a new position as one of the deputies in the presidential office.
Additionally, another trusted aide, Alexei Djumin, has returned to the Kremlin as an advisor. He was previously the governor of the Tula region, and some consider him a possible candidate for future high-ranking offices.
After winning re-election and being sworn in, Putin has been making changes to his cabinet. He's replaced Sergei Shoigu, the long-standing defence minister, with Andrei Beloussov, an economic expert. However, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has remained, despite having served for 20 years. Lavrov is a close ally to Putin and is important due to his loyalty.

In light of Russia's ongoing conflict with Ukraine, Patriarchuv's role as Putin's advisor on shipbuilding might not hinder his influence in strategic decisions. Despite his new position, Vladimir Putin's trusted advisor, Vladimir Patriarchuv, played a significant role in Russia's pursuit of greatness and the aggressive war against Ukraine.
