Trump seeks Musk's expertise in two specific domains.
It could be that Elon Musk spends even more time at the White House should Donald Trump win another term as US President. Insiders disclosed that Trump might be considering offering Musk a consulting role in his administration.
The details surrounding this possible position are scarce, but the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that Trump and Musk have talked about the CEO of Tesla providing insights on border security and economic policy if Trump regains his post as president. They didn't specify the title or the specifics of the job, but sources told WSJ that these discussions mostly focused on putting Musk's knowledge into practice.
Following his differences with Trump in the last couple of years, Musk is said to be behind the scenes, encouraging his wealthy counterparts to reconsider their support for Joe Biden. He is also teaming up with billionaire investor Nelson Peltz on a project meant to thwart election fraud. Peltz revealed they will use data to guarantee fair elections.
Musk has made no secrets about his views on the Biden administration. In a recent tweet, the Tesla chief executive stated he used to identify as a Democrat voter. However, he added, "Now I think we need a red wave, or else America is doomed." Previously, Musk's biographer, Walter Isaacson, recalled in his book "Elon Musk" that the billionaire characterized Trump as "one of the best bullsh*tters in the world."
Anticipating the jury's decision
According to WSJ, Musk and Trump have dined together and conversed about a range of issues such as immigration, tech, and the Space Force. Trump's campaign spokesperson Brian Hughes cautioned, "President Trump will determine for himself what part a person plays in his presidency."
The jury in the first criminal trial against a former US president has retired to consider their verdict. Trump faces charges of illegally financing his 2016 election campaign through a hush money payment. The outcome of this trial, in addition to its potential consequences on the ongoing US election, prompts speculation as to how influential it might turn out to be and for whose benefit.
Trump is attempting to leverage these accusations for his own advantage, rallying his supporters by playing the part of the victim of unjust prosecution. Meanwhile, current President Joe Biden, who is vying for re-election in November, seems to haven't gained a notable advantage from Trump's court case. US media conjectured that with the severe political polarization in the country, it's likely that the jurors would obtain a deadlock on the verdict.
