tragically, celebrated actor and karate kid franchise star, Chad McQueen, passes away at the age of 63, leaving behind his legacy as the son of legendary actor, Steve McQueen.

McQueen scored his major debut in 1984, starring as Dutch, the antagonist to Ralph Macchio's character, in the blockbuster film "The Karate Kid."

Reportedly, his lawyer, Arthur H. Barens, confirmed his demise on Wednesday to The Associated Press.

Like his father, McQueen delved into both acting and motorsports.

His spouse, Jeanie Galbraith, memorializing him on Instagram, alongside their son Chase and daughter, Madison, shared a heartfelt tribute. The family announced his passing, expressing their deep sorrow, stating, "His extraordinary role as a loving father to us, coupled with his unwavering devotion to our mother, encapsulated a life brimming with love and commitment." McQueen's passion for racing not only showcased his inherent talent but also served as a tribute to his father's legacy, an embodiment of the values passed down to him. His passion and commitment were passed on to his offspring, and they vow to carry on not only his legacy but their grandfather's as well.

Steven R. McQueen, McQueen's son from a previous relationship, followed him into the acting world, appearing in "The Vampire Diaries."

Fifteen years after his debut in "The Karate Kid," McQueen reprised his Dutch role in the sequel and starred in numerous other films. In addition, he produced two documentaries focusing on his father, "I Am Steve McQueen" in 2014 and "Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans" the following year.

His renowned father, famous for films like "The Magnificent Seven" and "The Great Escape," passed away at the age of 50 in Mexico in 1980 after undergoing surgery to remove a tumor.

Outside his acting career, McQueen shared his father's affinity for cars. The Associated Press reported that he dedicated his lifetime to professional racing, participating in races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and 24 Hours of Daytona. However, his tenure was marred by various injuries.

In 2010, McQueen founded McQueen Racing, which he operated alongside his children Chase and Madison, focusing on customizing vehicles and collaborating with the film industry.

During a 2005 interview with the Associated Press, McQueen explained, "I lost interest in acting. So, I made the decision to devote myself entirely to racing."

In an Instagram post, McQueen's son, Chase, wrote: "Knowing that you've now reunited with your Dad and Sister brings me a sense of comfort. Until we ride together again, I love you."

Paying homage to him online was Jon Hurwitz, one of the creators of "Cobra Kai," the popular "Karate Kid" revival on Netflix. Hurwitz described McQueen as "a Karate Kid legend," adding, "Unfortunately, Chad was unable to join us when it was time to film. At the end of the day, it wasn't meant to be. But Dutch will always be remembered as an intimidating figure in the Miyagiverse. He dominated."

Hurwitz continued, "Today, the Karate Kid fandom grieves for a legendary figure. I feel honored to have had the opportunity to spend time with him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his loving family. May Chad rest in peace."

Despite his successful acting career, following in his father's footsteps, McQueen found a new passion in entertainment through racing. His love for cars led him to establish McQueen Racing in 2010, focusing on customizing vehicles and collaborating with the film industry.

Chad McQueen's impact on entertainment extended beyond acting, as he reprised his role in "The Karate Kid" sequel and produced documentaries about his father's life.
