Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar - Traditional garb and cookies for St. Lucy's Day

"Happy Lucia morning!" wishes the Swedish royal family on their social media accounts. They also published a photo of Princess Estelle (11) and Prince Oscar (7), which, according to the description, was taken by their mother, Crown Princess Victoria (46), at Haga Castle.

In the photo, the two children are dressed in traditional white robes. While the daughter of Victoria and Prince Daniel (50) poses barefoot, her younger brother wears white socks. In addition to the basket of cookies - including the typical light-colored saffron cookies - that the eleven-year-old presents to the camera, the two headdresses are particularly striking. The princess wears a wreath of lights with candles, the prince a white pointed hat with golden stars.

The Lucia Festival is one of the most beautiful pre-Christmas customs in Sweden. It is celebrated on December 13, the feast day of St. Lucy, and originally lit up the shortest day of the year.
