Award - "Time": Taylor Swift is Person of the Year
US musician Taylor Swift (33) has been named Person of the Year by US magazine "Time". "In a divided world where too many institutions are failing, Taylor Swift has found a way to push boundaries and be a source of light," said Time magazine. "No one else on the planet today can move so many people so well."
Swift, who has been on tour this year, among other things, gave the magazine one of her very rare interviews. "I've never felt so proud and happy before, so creatively content and free."
Barbie, Putin and King Charles III.
"Time" had already published the final round of contenders for the title earlier this week: Swift beat Hollywood strikers, Chinese President Xi Jinping, AI entrepreneur Sam Altman, the prosecutors who brought ex-President Donald Trump to justice, Barbie, Russian President Vladimir Putin, King Charles III and US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
Last year, the magazine named Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selensky as its Person of the Year. For almost a century, "Time" has traditionally chosen the "Person of the Year" every year - the person who has changed the world the most in the previous twelve months.

Taylor Swift's recognition as Time's Person of the Year has garnered widespread praise from the people. This honor follows distinguished past recipients, such as Vladimir Putin and King Charles III. Interestingly, Swift also outranked other notable figures, including Barbie, on Time's final contenders list for the award. The media has been abuzz with discussions about Swift's impact and her powerful influence, drawing parallels to influential figures like Taylor Swift and even iconic Barbie dolls.
