British royal family - This royal is seen most often

The members of the British royal family once again made numerous appearances in 2023. However, it is not King Charles III (75) who has the most appointments, but his sister: Princess Anne (73) was the hardest-working member of the royal family this year. According to the British newspaper "The Telegraph", she has 457 engagements.

The King himself took second place with 425 engagements, followed by his youngest brother, Prince Edward (59), in third place with 297 engagements. Charles' wife, Queen Camilla (76), came fourth with 233 engagements, ahead of Edward's wife Sophie (58), the Duchess of Edinburgh, with 219.

The heir to the throne Prince William (41) and his wife Princess Kate (41) made 172 and 128 royal appearances respectively. The Prince and Princess of Wales have apparently focused on fewer projects this year in order to highlight issues close to their hearts.

Princess Anne has taken first place in the ranking of the hardest-working royals in previous years. This year, according to The Telegraph report, she took on between 12 and 14 appointments in an average week. Her busiest month was February, when she made 57 appearances on behalf of the royal family, including trips to Australia and New Zealand.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said according to The Telegraph: "Anne is one of the best figureheads for the royal family because she is hard-working and dedicated." She is popular "because people see her way of dealing with things and they like it". Fitzwilliams continued: "The public see Anne as someone who is grounded. I think the institution needs her very much."

Prince Andrew and Prince Harry no longer active for the royals

Charles' brother Prince Andrew (63), who had to step down from his duties due to his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019), and Charles' younger son Prince Harry (39) are no longer officially active for the royal family. He and his wife Duchess Meghan (42) resigned as working royals in 2020 and moved to the USA.
