"This is the Geissens' Christmas house"

Planning Christmas, decorating your home and decorating the tree every year? How impractical! So it makes sense to simply have a house especially for the holidays. At least if your name is Robert and Carmen Geiss.

Inflation is still high and heating and electricity prices are threatening to go through the roof. Some people are turning over the euro a second time this year, even at Christmas. But not the Geiss family! In an interview with the magazine "Bunte", they reveal that they are still able to afford luxuries that would make even Santa Claus green with envy.

Their daughters Shania (l.) and Davina also celebrate Christmas with them.

The couple's possessions include a luxury villa in Valberg in the French Alps. "This is the Geissens' Christmas house," "Rooobääärt" proudly reveals. And his wife explains: "The great thing about our house in Valberg is that we really only come for Christmas every week. I never take down the Christmas tree. It's been up for five years - or six."

For the couple and their two daughters Davina and Shania, the "Christmas house" with its 1150 square meters of land really does offer almost every amenity. The 320 square meters of living space are spread over six rooms. There is also a large terrace, a sauna, a wine cellar and direct access to the ski slope.

"Full of stress"

However, there is one small downer for the Geissens. Here, secluded in the mountains, they have to lend a hand themselves. "We are under a lot of stress. And as we don't have that much staff, Carmen has to clean up all day," Robert Geiss sums it up. That's why he actually thought to himself a year ago: "I won't do it again next year. I'm not going back to the ski lodge we have up there and cooking from morning to night."

However, a planned sale of the house recently fell through, unfortunately. "Now we're stuck with the house again and instead of clearing out, we have to clear in again," the 59-year-old complains about his luxury problem.

So the two daughters will probably have no choice but to make the arduous journey again this year. For Carmen Geiss, one thing is certain: "The family must always stay together, I think that's the case for everyone. It's important for us that the children are with us on Christmas Eve and then we cook all week - that's actually our tradition."

Anyone who would like to get to know the other traditions in the Geiss household a little better will have the opportunity to do so again from January 8, 2024. That's when "Die Geissens - eine schrecklich glamouröse Familie" on RTLZwei enters its 22nd season, believe it or not. With this in mind: Merry Christmas!

Despite the ongoing inflation and rising costs, the Geiss family continues to indulge in luxurious Christmas celebrations, even entertaining the idea of a reality-TV special for their traditions. In an interview, Robert Geiss mentions, "We'll be back to our ski lodge for Christmas, even if it means more cooking for me on reality-TV."

The Geiss family's celebrated Christmas entertainment continues as "Die Geissens - eine schrecklich glamouröse Familie" returns for its 22nd season on RTLZwei this January. This time around, they will share their Christmas-themed reality-TV special, promising a festive reality-TV take on their traditional celebrations, including their television-worthy 'Christmas house.'
