Third abuse lawsuit against Sean "Diddy" Combs
Following the announcement of the settlement that rap producer Sean "Diddy" Combs reached with his ex-girlfriend after allegations of abuse, lawsuits have been piling up. Now the third woman has come forward with allegations from the 1990s. The 54-year-old describes them as "fabricated".
A third woman has apparently accused rapper and music producer Sean "Diddy" Combs of an alleged sexual assault from around 30 years ago. This was reported by People magazine, citing a lawsuit that was filed in New York Supreme Court on Thursday. The 54-year-old musician denies all allegations.
Combs' team told People magazine: "These are trumped-up allegations falsely claiming misconduct from over 30 years ago". "This is nothing more than greed." The statement continued: "Because of Mr. Combs' fame and success, he is an easy target for anonymous accusers who lie without conscience or consequences for financial gain."
Shortly beforehand, US media had reported that the musician known under pseudonyms such as Diddy, Puff Daddy and P. Diddy was facing allegations from a second woman following the accusations made by his ex-girlfriend Casandra "Cassie" Ventura. She has also reportedly filed a lawsuit against Combs.
Cassie Ventura case ends out of court
According to reports from CNN, the case is a lawsuit brought by a woman who accuses him of deliberately drugging and sexually abusing her in January 1991. The woman was a student at Syracuse University in New York at the time and had previously appeared in some of his music videos.
In the statement of claim, the woman makes direct reference to the previous lawsuit filed by Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, which was finally settled "amicably" just one day later. It reads: "It was the filing of the lawsuit for his abuse of Cassie Ventura on November 16, 2023 that forced her to face his assault again."
Combs and Ventura had agreed to an out-of-court settlement - just hours after the singer filed a civil lawsuit for abuse, rape and assault in federal court in New York.
Despite the third lawsuit against him, Sean "Diddy" Combs continues to maintain his innocence in the face of sexual abuse allegations from the 1990s, which have gained traction in the entertainment news sphere. A recent report by TMZ reveals that yet another woman has come forward with similar claims, adding to the controversy surrounding the renowned rapper and music producer in the USA.
