Media - These are the streaming tips for the week
Christmas is approaching and streaming providers are enticing audiences with lots of films and series. A selection of offers that are worth streaming:
Enigmatic: "The Little Prince"
The novel by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is part of world literature. Filmmaker Vincent Nguyen has now traced the history of the work's creation. His documentary "The Little Prince - You can only see well with your heart" provides an insight into the French pilot and military aviator's time in exile. During his years in New York from 1940, he wrote and illustrated the famous book about the homesick prince from the planet Asteroid B 612, who philosophizes with a fox and a crash pilot about life and transience, which can be seen on arte.tv and in the Arte Mediathek. The lovingly animated film "The Little Prince" on Prime Video goes well with this. It embeds the narrative in the story of a girl who befriends an old neighbor in whose garden there is an ancient, rickety plane.
Unexpected: "EXmas"
Graham has something special planned for Christmas. He wants to surprise his parents with a visit. But when he arrives home, he is in for a big shock: his ex-fiancée Ali, of all people, is staying with his family. He tries everything in his power to disgust Ali from the house. But it's not that easy. The amusing Christmas comedy "EXmas" with "Upload" lead actor Robbie Amell and "Gossip Girl" star Leighton Meester alias Blair is currently available on Amazon Freevee.
Persistent: "Merry Christmas"
This movie from 1983 is one of the classics of the festive season. Little Ralphie dreams of a very special present. He leaves no stone unturned to get it. 40 years later, there is a sequel. Ralphie has now grown up and has children of his own. He wants to give them an unforgettable Christmas. A great idea, but the realization is more difficult than expected. Wow is currently showing the turbulent comedy "A Christmas Story Christmas: Leise rieselt der Stress". The predecessor film "Merry Christmas" from 1983 is currently available for a fee on Prime Video, YouTube, Google Play or Apple TV, for example.
