Walter Plathe - The TV star almost died

It was quiet for a long time around the former ZDF "Country Doctor" Walter Plathe (73). Now, the actor has revealed the reason for his break. "I wasn't feeling good at all," he told the magazine "Bunte" in an interview. Two years ago, he suffered a "complete collapse" and spent six weeks in a coma.

"I had to learn everything, really everything all over again"

"I looked death in the eye for a while," Plathe recalls. "After the clinic, I spent six months in rehab. I had to learn everything, really everything all over again, even speaking. I couldn't walk or do anything." It was a "very hard road" for him, he couldn't remember the time in the coma anymore. "Fortunately, I'm sitting here again today. I can do everything I want and even work," Plathe proudly says, who recently stood in front of the camera again for a new "Usedom-Crime". His son Janek is the production manager, he revealed to the "Nordkurier" in June. The film will come to television in the fall.

Walter Plathe longs for "Security"

Currently, the actor is "really happy". However, there is still a new partner or companion missing in his life. Plathe was married twice, from 1999 to 2008 with his acting colleague Victoria Sturm (51). In his autobiography "I have not spared anything" he made his bisexuality public in 2017.

Now he longs for "Security", whether from a man or a woman, he says: "Both is possible." But "when you get older, you're glad if you don't have to talk to just a chandelier."

New "Usedom-Crime" comes in the fall
