The Transport Minister, Wissing, aims to boost the development of charging stations for electric company vehicles.
The Transport Minister of Germany, Volker Wissing, plans to aid in constructing charging stations for commercial electric vehicles to the tune of €150 million.
During an interview with the Düsseldorf-based "Rheinische Post" on Tuesday, Wissing spoke about this, stating that company vehicles have substantially higher mileage than personal ones. "This makes them a key player in the transition to electric transportation and an essential tool for meeting climate goals as well," he conveyed.
The financial help is especially beneficial for small and medium-sized enterprises, he added, since switching to an eco-friendly fleet implies major investments. For instance, the transportation, logistics, and trades sector, as well as rental car and car-sharing companies, and care services, could stand to benefit. The funding program is scheduled for launch in early June.

The investment in e-car charging stations for company vehicles will significantly reduce their carbon footprint, contributing to the clear goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Wissing emphasized the need for constructing multiple charging stations across the country to cater to the larger mileage often covered by company vehicles.
Upon the launch of the funding program in June, Wissing-supported e-car charging stations for company vehicles will become more accessible and affordable, encouraging a shift towards sustainable transportation options.
