Music - People - Museums - The Swiftchurch sign comes into the House of History

A sign, set up for the celebrated concerts of pop singer Taylor Swift in Gelsenkirchen, named "Swiftchurch", will enter the museum. The Bonn House of History announced that it will receive a place in its collection. The foundation asked if it could add one of the specially made signposts to its collection after their use. Mayor Karin Welge happily agreed, according to further information.

The House of History of the Federal Republic of Germany collects objects of recent history and will therefore also give a place to the phenomenon "Taylor Swift". An original of the typical yellow signpost with a pink portrait of the megastar will be handed over to the collection director on Friday.

The city in a Swiftie exception state for days

Three concerts of the US singer last week attracted around 200,000 fans to the Ruhrgebiet city. There was an exceptional "Swiftie" mood around the Veltins-Arena on Schalke for the Germany debut of her "The Eras-Tour".

The city had renamed itself temporarily in honor of the popstar and followed the petition of a student and Swift fan from the Lower Rhine: Already in early July, around 30 "Swiftchurch" examples had been hung up in the city. Many of them became a popular Selfie background.

  1. The Swiftchurch sign, a symbol of Taylor Swift's music history in North Rhine-Westphalia, will be part of the Miscellaneous section in the Bonn House of History.
  2. People from around Germany visited Gelsenkirchen during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, fueling an unprecedented Swiftie atmosphere in the city.
  3. The House of History in Bonn, dedicated to collecting objects of recent German history, is set to acquire an original Swiftchurch signpost as a Curiosity.
  4. The Swiftchurch signs, with their distinctive yellow backgrounds and pink Taylor Swift portraits, became popular selfie spots for fans during her Germany tour.
  5. The temporary renaming of Gelsenkirchen in honor of Taylor Swift, initiated by a local Swift fan, added an exciting chapter to the city's history.
  6. The House of History in Bonn, particularly its Pop and Music Culture section, will gain a unique piece of Swiss Church and Taylor Swift history, contributing to the understanding of recent popular culture.
