Singer releases a statement on behalf of the family
"Our mother was a force to be reckoned with. Her spirit and attitude shaped this family. We will deeply miss her," the singer stated in a family statement, as quoted by "People" magazine. The funeral is to take place privately.
Carol Bongiovi was not only the founder of the fan club of the eponymous band of her son, but also an entrepreneur and ran several businesses. In her younger years, she posed for "Playboy." In an interview with "The Big Issue" in November 2020, Bon Jovi thanked his parents for giving him the ability to turn his dream into reality. "Even if you weren't good at your craft, you could still work at it, if you believed you could," he said. They had always instilled in him that he could accomplish anything. "They always supported me, which was incredible in retrospect. I could come home as late as one or two in the morning and still had to be at school by eight. Carol leaves behind her husband, with whom she was married for sixty-three years, her three sons, and eight grandchildren.
