The renowned musician, Bruce Springsteen, indicates no immediate intentions of retiring from live performances.
The musical icon assured the crowd during a show in Philadelphia last week that he "ain't leaving" and intends to keep touring in the near future.
springsteen told the audience, as per recordings from the performance shared on social media, "We've been doing this for 50 damn years and we're not stopping." He added, "No fancy 'last tour' nonsense. No final tour for the E Street Band."
He continued by questioning, "What are we saying goodbye to? Thousands of people cheering for you?"
springsteen joked, "Yeah, I could use a break from that."
springsteen has been dealing with persistent health issues that led to several concert postponements throughout the E Street Band's world tour, which started in February 2023.
In May, he postponed shows in three European cities due to vocal problems and in September 2023, the 74-year-old musician announced that over 20 shows needed to be rescheduled as he recovered from "peptic ulcer disease." He had previously rescheduled shows earlier, revealing in a statement at the time that he had taken ill.
The tour is set to end in November, coinciding with the premiere of a new documentary film titled "Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band" on streaming platforms Disney+ and Hulu.
"Road Diary" provides viewers with "the most comprehensive insight ever" into the band's creation of their legendary live performances during the 2023-2024 world tour.
