The present youth exhibits a greater inclination towards electric-powered automobiles.

The prevalent skepticism towards electric vehicles in Germany seems to be a trend predominantly found among older generations, as indicated by a study conducted by ADAC automobile insurance on electronic mobility. As per this study, a whopping 29% of drivers aged between 18 and 29 believe that their forthcoming vehicle will be electric, while only 9% of those aged 50 and above share the same sentiment.

Among the younger demographic, over half are inclined towards purchasing an electric car. Apart from the 29% who would unquestionably or likely opt for an electric vehicle for their next purchase, an additional 28% fall under the 'possibly' category. However, this percentage drops drastically to just 18% amongst those aged 50 and above.

Frequency of electric car usage also leans towards the younger generation. A staggering 12% of those younger than 30 drive electric regularly, in contrast to the mere 4% observed among those aged 50 and up.

Is Range or Price More Crucial?

When questioned about the primary factors considered while purchasing an electric vehicle, range emerged as the top preference for all respondents at an impressive 38%, while a reasonable purchasing price took the second spot at 33%. A substantial 25% of participants struggled to choose between these two criteria.

Among regular electric car drivers, range outweighed price significance by a significant margin, with 68% considering range the foremost priority, as opposed to 24% who leaned toward a more affordable purchase price.

The study further highlighted considerable gaps in the respondents' understanding of electric vehicles. A disconcerting 50% of participants admitted to not fully understanding the advantages and disadvantages associated with electric vehicles, while only 49% displayed a more informed stance on the subject.

Based on thestudy conducted by ADAC automobile insurance, the survey reveals that among those aged 18-29, a higher percentage (29%) believe their next vehicle will be electric compared to those aged 50 and above (9%). Furthermore, the survey findings suggest that regular electric car usage is more prevalent among younger generations, with 12% of those under 30 driving electric regularly, compared to 4% of those aged 50 and up.

Young individuals largely view themselves as open to opting for an electric vehicle (EV) as their subsequent mode of transportation.
