The Netherlands seeks to acquire Patriot missile defense systems for Ukraine.
The Dutch plan on collaborating with other nations to construct a Patriot missile protection system for Ukraine. Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren stated that the Netherlands will supply "key components" of the system themselves.
She additionally requested that European partner countries contribute either parts or ammunition. By doing so, a total aerial defense system for Ukraine can be handed over swiftly.
The minister acknowledged the dearth of these air defense systems in Europe. "However, Ukraine is also defending Europe," said the minister in Brussels prior to an EU defense ministers' meeting. "Every day, innocent civilians are killed by air attacks on civilian targets. They desperately demand these Patriots."
The Netherlands had previously bestowed two of these air defense systems to Ukraine.
