- The monarchical clan is set to attend Princess Martha Louise's matrimonial ceremony.

Princess Martha Louise's (52) much-talked-about wedding to her partner Durek Verrett (49) is set to take place with the Norwegian royal family in attendance. King Harald V. and Queen Sonja (both 87), along with Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit (both 51), will witness the nuptials on Saturday in western Norway's Geiranger. The royal court made this announcement in Oslo.

The younger royal offspring will be represented by Haakon and Mette-Marit's kids, Princess Ingrid Alexandra (20) and Prince Sverre Magnus (18). Princess Astrid (92), Harald's sibling, will also be in attendance. The family had previously planned to attend an introductory event on Thursday in Ålesund, as per the royal court's statement.

Wedding controversy brewing

Martha Louise is King Harald and Sonja's eldest daughter. Despite being older than her brother Haakon, she holds the fourth position in line to the throne, after Haakon, Ingrid Alexandra, and Sverre Magnus. Her relationship with shaman Durek Verrett has been a subject of controversy since the beginning. The wedding preparations have also been marred by controversy, including a disputed wedding gin, Verrett's mother, and most recently, the acquisition of exclusive rights to the ceremony and reception by British celebrity magazine "Hello!"

The royal court has raised concerns about being the sole focus of "Hello!"'s photography sessions. According to Norwegian news reports, the TV rights belong to a camera team led by a Netflix director.

Marius to miss the event

Meanwhile, the royal court is dealing with accusations of violence against Marius Borg Høiby, yet another son of Mette-Marit from a previous relationship. The 27-year-old has confessed to being physically abusive towards his girlfriend. He will not be attending the wedding, as confirmed by the court to Norwegian broadcaster NRK. This decision was reportedly made prior to the recent violent incident.

People from the Norwegian royal family, including King Harald V., Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, will attend Princess Martha Louise's wedding. Additionally, her children, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus, as well as her aunt Princess Astrid, will also be in attendance.
