The Italian government implements border checks.
During the June G7 summit where leaders of the seven prominent Western industrial countries gather in the Italian region of Apulia, security measures will be reapplied at Italy's borders.
The suspension of the Schengen Agreement, which eliminates border checks among European Union member states, will be implemented at Italy's borders from June 5th to 18th, as the Italian Interior Ministry revealed last Friday.
The G7 is an unofficial group consisting of the heads of state and government from seven significant industrialized nations. They are Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Canada, and the United States. Italy currently serves as the G7's president. This gathering is scheduled to occur from June 13th to 15th at a posh resort in Apulia's Borgo Egnazia.
