- The European Union's Court of Justice has determined that the Commission has fallen short in meeting its duties as stipulated by the Treaty.
The judgment in the trial against Melanie Müller, alleged for performing Nazi salutes, is scheduled for today. Surprisingly, she showed up at the Leipzig District Court this morning, despite the judge previously stating that her attendance wasn't necessary.
Initially, the court intended to listen to a witness's testimony and the closing statements. As per the prosecution, the 36-year-old is accused of executing the Nazi salute numerous times at a concert in September 2022. The Public Prosecutor's Office accuses Müller of employing symbols associated with unconstitutional and terrorist organizations.
Furthermore, the trial involves drug charges, as 0.69 grams of cocaine and an ecstasy pill were discovered during a search of Müller's Leipzig apartment. At the trial's commencement, the ex-RTL jungle queen denied all accusations. Until a final judgment, Müller remains innocent in the eyes of the law.
Müller hails from the Saxon town of Oschatz. In 2014, she emerged victorious in the eighth season of the RTL jungle show "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" and has since appeared in various TV shows. As a pop singer, she performs at various locations, including Mallorca.
The trial related to Melanie Müller's Nazi salute allegations will take place at the Court of First Instance. Despite the judge's statement, Müller decided to attend the proceedings at the Leipzig District Court, which is considered a subsidiary court under the Court of First Instance.
