Amira Pocher in the podcast "Liebes Leben" - The divorce could be finalized in August
A few days ago, Influencer Amira Pocher (31) and Moderator Christian Düren (34) made their relationship public. There were rumors since paparazzi photos surfaced showing them intimately on vacation in South Africa. In the first episode of "Love Life" (exclusively on Podimo) with her brother Ibrahim "Hima" (33) since the love confession, she confirmed it again: "I am in a relationship." Amira Pocher: "This secret was incredibly important"
Hima wants to know "the important details, facts: How serious is it? Do you live together? Do you plan children? Do you love each other?" Although she doesn't really go into detail, she seems relieved. "It was about time, this secret had been going on for a long time, honestly speaking. And it was also incredibly important," so Pocher.
They had waited for the right moment for the relationship coming-out. Earlier in the getting-to-know-each-other phase, there hadn't been a reason to go public - even if it had been preceded by paparazzi photos in Cape Town, Paris, or Mallorca. "We've read about it before, but we never confirmed it because there simply wasn't a reason for it."
They wanted to find out: "Does this work? Does it fit - with the children, with this whole circus, with the exes and so on." They wanted to avoid headlines like "It's all over again" if it hadn't worked out. Furthermore, it was "a matter of respect and consideration" not to publish "smooching photos" voluntarily. "And now, after a year of separation, Mom can just go on and admit it," adds Pocher. A public separation is always difficult, confirms Hima, "and that's why hats off to both of you."
Amira Pocher: "The fact is, we both move on and that's how it should be"
About her still-married ex-husband Oliver Pocher (45), Amira says: "The fact is, we both move on and that's how it should be. That's why we're divorced. But honestly, it was a bit stupid of me that there were so many photos of that right away."
She also explains how fresh her new love was supposed to have been at the time: "Because I'm not sitting in Cape Town with friends at a table and calling the paparazzi to where I've only just met this person for the first time. That wasn't my intention and that's why I resisted it. And at that time, I had already been separated for half a year. It's different if you're still together or just in a separation phase."
The separation year - or were there already two?
"But on paper, you're still married," Hima points out. "Yes, of course, but there is such a thing as a separation year, which is now over." Then she hints noticeably that Düren's behavior after the official separation had not caused her to reconsider the whole thing. "I really don't have to listen to anything about that. Because everyone could see: Maybe it wasn't meant to be. Because it's not the fine English way and exactly that, that I then still say: No, no, maybe we'll give it another chance. No, no, so I really don't need another year," says Amira Pocher contemptuously.
Oliver Pocher had let his hurt feelings run free in posts and on stage, revealing many hurtful details.
Regarding the separation year: Officially, it didn't start when it was publicly communicated, Hima states, adding that it had been going on privately for a while longer. "Exactly, that's why we've had two years of separation now - it's about time, isn't it", Amira Pocher says. "Despite that, I've also waited for a while out of consideration, since there's no chance of getting back together from both sides, and I didn't think it was appropriate to post any couple pictures from the vacation."
There were many reasons for it, "but I'm still the asshole ... I'm just living my life and looking forward, happy that I'm happy and my children are happy", she says in response to the criticism she must have faced. Now, however, she doesn't care anymore, because she can't make anyone happy anyway.
The divorce could be in August
"Now comes the divorce, which is also imminent. That will be quite exciting, I think. Peace and quiet hasn't quite returned yet", Amira explains about the upcoming official divorce. Hima types: "You two won't be married anymore in August, if it runs as planned." Amira: "Waiting..."
But first, the next short trip of the newly in love turtle doves Pocher and Düren is coming up. They're going to Rome: "Christian gave me this: I see, I hear Ludovico Einaudi live in Rome", she excitedly reports about the concert visit in Italy. "We'll stay a few days."
It's unclear whether their two sons will be there as well. But Hima also asks important questions about the patchwork happiness: "The kids have also met Christian. How do they get along with him? How do they take it? Do they understand it?", he wonders. "It's going great, we have a lot of fun together [...] everything's great here, a good team, I have to say [...]", Amira admits.
