Fate's stroke for Guido Maria Kretschmer - The designer mourns for his dog

Guido Maria Kretschmer (59) and his husband Frank Mutters (69) mourn the loss of their beloved dog Alaiyha. "...as you left us in our arms yesterday evening, our world stood still for a moment", writes the "Shopping Queen"-star in a touching Instagram post accompanied by a picture of the now deceased four-legged friend.

Heavy blows of fate for Guido Maria Kretschmer

However, the designer also remembers the many beautiful moments with the deceased dog fondly. "We loved you so much and what a great fortune it was to have had you with us for so long", the 59-year-old continues. He now feels "gratitude". The dog Alaiyha lived, according to the post, from December 2010 to July 10, 2023, and was therefore 13 years, six months, and a few days old.

The fashion designer had to endure some painful blows of fate in the past year. In August 2023, his father Erich (87) passed away. His mother Marianne followed in December (84 years old). "When my mother then passed away, everything was gone [...]. I was lost like never before in my entire life", Kretschmer said in the NDR talkshow "deep and clear".

Family growth in painful times

In April of this year, the family then lost Idaya, who was only four years old. "It tears our hearts apart and we are still in shock over this unexpected and tragic loss...", wrote Kretschmer on Instagram at the time. Already the previous year, he mourned for Hündin Aimée.

However, there was also growth in the family. The designer rejoiced in May 2024 over "the wonderful Mila", a dog, as another Instagram post reported, who was rescued from a "euthanasia station in Andalusia". Ivy, apparently the sister of the deceased Idaya, was "delighted after the mourning for her sister, very excited about her new playmate" at the time.

The recent loss of their dog Alaiyha brings back memories of other trials faced by Guido Maria Kretschmer. "Fate's blow struck again when my mother passed away," he reflected, recalling the intense grief he experienced. Despite the burdens, Guido Maria found solace in the arrival of a new dog, Mila. "Fate's stroke for Guido Maria Kretschmer might have been harsh, but it also paved the way for the joy we found in Mila," he mused on Instagram. The designer's husband, Frank Mutters, wholeheartedly agrees with his sentiments, posting a message of love and appreciation for their furry companions. "Both Alaiyha and Mila have brought an immense amount of happiness into our lives," Frank wrote on Instagram, echoing Guido's sentiments. The renowned designer Guido Maria Kretschmer, along with his partner Frank, continues to navigate the ups and downs of their life with a dog, finding comfort and joy in their love for each other and their beloved pets.
