At "Stars in the Circus" on Friday evening (28th of June), numerous stars appeared as acrobats, magicians, clowns, and animal trainers. One was missing in Circus Krone: Comedian Luke Mockridge (35) had originally planned to swing through the air in the merry-go-round, but was not there during the broadcast. His performance was forbidden for him.

Why Luke Mockridge was missing from the recording

Moderator Jörg Pilawa (58) explained the reason for his absence: The comedian tested positive for Corona and had to isolate. However, Mockridge appeared via video and apologized. The TV audience did not have to miss his performance according to Pilawa: The performance was recorded beforehand and without an audience.

According to the "Bild" newspaper, the production of the TV show had already taken place in December, Mockridge's Corona infection therefore dates back several months.

Ilka Bessin (52) was also part of the show as a cat trainer, Ingolf Lück (66) balanced on a unicycle, and comedian Martin Schneider (60) was a juggler. However, the trophy went to moderator Ariane Alter (38) in the end, who convinced with her spectacle-height cage act.
