- That's what the rapper makes as an Olympic fan.

As torchbearer, cheerleader, or in full equestrian gear: Snoop Dogg (52) seems to be everywhere at the Olympic Games in Paris. The rapper is a huge Olympics fan and has become the unofficial mascot of the games in recent weeks. But Snoop Dogg isn't just there for fun; he's a correspondent for the U.S. network NBC, which holds the TV rights to the games.

How much Snoop Dogg is supposed to earn

Snoop Dogg has been commenting on events like equestrian and fencing competitions with his humorous remarks alongside Olympics host Mike Tirico, and he's also been seen reporting from various locations. And it seems he's being well compensated for it.

U.S. businessman Henry McNamara made public on the X platform the alleged amount Snoop Dogg is supposed to earn during the Olympics. According to him, Snoop is getting a whopping $500,000 (around 450,000 euros) per day.

"I was sitting next to an NBC official at dinner, and he told me that Snoop is getting $500,000 plus expenses per day to be here promoting the Olympics," McNamara wrote. "From 'Gin and Juice' to a few million to be a celebrity at the Olympics - what a world." For 16 days of Olympics, that would be $8 million (around 7.9 million euros) - plus expenses.

NBC's ratings have significantly increased

It seems to be paying off for NBC, though. According to the radio syndicate "NPR," the network's ratings during the Paris games have increased by 79 percent compared to the 2021 Tokyo games. Whether that's solely due to Snoop Dogg is unknown, but he's likely attracting a younger audience. Snoop Dogg already commented on the highlights of the dressage competition in Tokyo and reached "tens of millions of viewers," according to an NBC press release.

The rapper is also being praised online for his appearances. The top comment under McNamara's X post, for example, says: "He's worth every cent." Snoop Dogg has also gone viral several times in recent weeks with his various appearances, most recently in full dressage gear next to U.S. TV chef Martha Stewart (83).

Snoop Dogg's humorous commentary and reports from various Olympic events in Paris, such as equestrian and fencing competitions, have undoubtedly added excitement to the games. His daily salary, reportedly $500,000, and his entertaining presence on NBC have significantly contributed to an increase in NBC's ratings during the Paris games, with a 79% surge compared to the 2021 Tokyo games.
