Ten-year-old tries to shield sibling from harm, barely survives the ordeal.

Last year in September, tragedy struck in the city of Brighton, UK, as a young boy plunged off a cliff, leaving him seriously injured. At first glance, it seemed like an unfortunate accident. However, authorities soon discovered that it was, in fact, an attempted murder case. The alleged motive? To silence the boy who was trying to expose the sexual abuse of his sister-in-law.

A 54-year-old man currently stands trial in Oxford Crown Court for heinous crimes. He is being charged with sexually assaulting and raping a teenage girl under 13 years old, the attempted murder of the boy, and acts of cruelty towards him.

During the trial, the man is accused of throwing a 10-year-old boy off the cliffs in Brighton. Witnesses reported hearing screams and then seeing a little body plummeting off the cliff, seemingly tossed over the edge. It was revealed that the boy tried to stop the man from committing the horrific acts against his younger sister.

Prosecutors claim that, due to the severity of his injuries, the boy miraculously survived. He had fallen from a height of approximately 30 meters and was airlifted to a hospital in London. At first, the event was considered an accident. The man himself had warned the boy not to get too close to the edge, leaving many puzzled. The boy couldn't even remember the fall due to the traumatic impact on his body.

A cunning scheme to cover up the abuse

According to the prosecution's version of events, the man's motive was to get rid of the boy who was protecting his sister. "The defendant coerced a girl under the legal age to engage in sexual activity with him, even though he was aware it was wrong. The boy tried to intervene. Without the mother of the boy knowing, the defendant subsequently took the boy to Brighton, specifically to the cliffs. Later that afternoon, the boy fell 30 feet from the cliff's edge onto the concrete sidewalk. The defendant attempted to kill him by pushing him off the cliff." The man had even considered killing the boy in a quarry beforehand.

In 2023, the man revealed to his psychiatrist his plans to "marry" the boy's sister. When arrested, he declined to answer any questions. A lawyer then read a statement on his behalf where he denied any attraction or involvement in child sexual activity.
