Television actress Danielle Fishel has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Known for her part in the '90s sitcom "Boy Meets World," Danielle Fishel is currently making waves for a grim turn of events. At 43 years old, she's fighting against breast cancer.

Danielle Fishel, the actress and mother of two young lads, recently revealed her battle with breast cancer in an episode of her podcast "Pod Meets World." The diagnosis came during a routine check-up, which Fishel shared with her listeners.

"I discovered I have DCIS," Fishel shared, "which is an early form of breast cancer." DCIS stands for Ductal Carcinoma in Situ, a form of cell growth that can potentially progress into breast cancer.

"It's extremely early," Fishel reassured, "It's practically at stage zero. I'll have surgery to remove it, follow-up treatment, and I'll be healthy again." So far, her tumor has not metastasized to the surrounding breast tissue.

"I scheduled my mammogram the moment I received the reminder text," Fishel added, emphasizing the importance of timely screenings. She hopes her story serves as a reminder to others to keep their appointments. "We can't simply neglect saying, 'I don't have time for this, I had one last year'," she stressed.

Hailing from the U.S. state of Arizona, Fishel gained prominence in the '90s through various television productions. She appeared in two episodes of "Full House" but achieved significant recognition with her role as Topanga Lawrence in "Boy Meets World," from 1993 till 2000.

Fishel was in a relationship with NSYNC's Lance Bass towards the end of the '90s. Bass came out as gay in 2006. In 2018, they announced plans to convert their past relationship into a movie. Today, Fishel is married to author Jensen Karp for the second time. The couple has two sons, born in 2019 and 2021.

"Despite the challenging diagnosis of breast cancer, Danielle Fishel remains hopeful and is committed to her treatment plan."

"Sharing her experience with DCIS, a form of early-stage breast cancer, Fishel stresses the importance of regular breast cancer screenings and attending all appointments."

Fishel gained prominence through her part in the television series 'Freaks and Geeks'.
