Taylor Swift publically supports Kamala Harris' presidential campaign.

"Just like many others, I watched the debate tonight. If you haven't done so yet, now would be an excellent time to delve into the issues at hand and understand where these candidates stand on matters close to your heart. As a voter, I ensure to consume as much information as possible about their proposed policies and plans for this nation," Swift posted on Instagram.

"I've come to realize that AI impersonating me, promoting Donald Trump's presidential campaign, was misleading information spread online. This incident stresses the importance of transparency and authenticity in my political standpoints as a voter. The best antidote to misinformation is truth itself. I will cast my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election."

Harris ascended to the Democratic Party's nominee in July, succeeding President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race. In August, Harris revealed Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate.

Swift's endorsement of Harris encompassed Walz's selection as her running mate.

"I'm voting for @kamalaharris because she champions the rights and causes I believe require an advocate. I regard her as a steadfast, gifted leader with the ability to drive progress in this nation. Her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has consistently advocated for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman's autonomy over her own body, left me in awe. I am truly heartened by her choices," Swift stated.

"After thorough research, I've made up my mind. The decision is ultimately yours to make, too. I cannot stress enough the importance of registration – remember, you must be registered to vote! Furthermore, I find that voting early makes the process much smoother. I've linked resources for registration and early voting details in my story."

Swift concluded her post by referring to herself as a "childless cat lady," echoing a phrase used by Sen. JD Vance, Trump's running mate, to disparage Democrats.

In 2020, Swift publicly endorsed Biden and Harris in their campaign for the White House.

Since her quiet political presence throughout her nearly two-decade career, Swift began backing Democratic candidates in 2018 midterm elections, first endorsing two Democratic figures in Tennessee. Since then, her support for Democratic causes and candidates has grown, often urging her followers to vote and advocating for women's rights, reproductive health, and LGBTQ+ rights.

Swift shares her feelings of regret for not speaking out earlier about political causes in her 2020 documentary "Miss Americana" in a highly emotional conversation with her father, Scott Swift. She told him that she felt compelled to be on the right side of history.

During an emotional conversation in her documentary, Swift also voiced her criticism of former President Donald Trump.

A prominent group of Swift's supporters, the Swifties, mobilized in the 2024 election cycle, establishing the Swifties for Kamala online community shortly after Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidency and endorsed Harris.

The community, which has thousands of followers, raised over $122K during their two-hour kickoff call in August, featuring Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren and singer Carole King as speakers.

"We trust that Harris-Walz will fight for our rights and those of our loved ones, and will work towards making this nation safer for everyone," Carly Long, the communications director of Swifties for Kamala, previously told CNN.

CNN’s Elizabeth Wagmeister and Kate Sullivan contributed to this report.

After witnessing Swift's endorsement of Harris and Walz, I decided to take a break from the political turmoil and indulge in some entertainment. Regardless of our political beliefs, it's essential to balance our lives with moments of relaxation and enjoyment.
