The Eras Tour - Taylor Swift in life-size
Taylor Swift on 90 Square Metres: Before the first Germany concert of the pop singer in the context of her "Eras Tour" in Gelsenkirchen, a huge Acrylic painting is being created. The artwork will be 90 square metres large and three-dimensional - depending on the perspective, it appears as if Swift is springing out of the ground towards the observer.
Four days are needed by artists Vanessa and Lydia Hitzfeld to paint the mural in the Gelsenkirchen city centre. Vanessa Hitzfeld specializes in 3D street art, and she has been painting projects with her mother Lydia for several years. "I'm particularly excited that it can be used later. It's not hanging in some gallery or someone's home, but is in the public domain," says Vanessa Hitzfeld. "And people have fun with it."
Entering the painting is explicitly encouraged. Fans can position themselves at various spots on the painting and take photos with Swift's image.
The three-dimensional painting will, in addition to the singer's face, also show many details related to her and her music: for example, butterflies that symbolize her debut album "Taylor Swift," Swift's lucky number 13, and a snake representing her sixth studio album "Reputation."
The painting is supposed to be finished on Tuesday evening, punctually before the first concert. The US singer is playing three shows in the Ruhrgebiet city (17., 18., and 19. July). Gelsenkirchen is expecting around 200,000 fans, as city spokesperson Markus Schwardtmann said. Further Germany shows follow in Hamburg and Munich.
