Taylor Swift greets her fans in German

Under the cheers of 60,000 people, Taylor Swift started her first Germany concert of the current tour - and welcomed her fans in a special way.

The Eras Tour - Taylor Swift greets her fans in German

US-Superstar Taylor Swift welcomed her fans in Gelsenkirchen in German. "Gelsenkirchen, welcome to the 'Eras Tour'! Good evening", called out the 34-year-old to the cheers of 60,000 fans in the sold-out arena.

"It's nice to see you all", she also said in German. Swift began her Germany concerts with her performance in the Ruhr region city. In English, she introduced: "It won't take long again before I come back."

Swift's last Germany tour was nine years ago. Her current world tour started in March 2023 and caused a worldwide sensation, with shows selling out in minutes.

In Gelsenkirchen, Swift performs together with the opening act Paramore on both Thursday and Friday. The city anticipates around 200,000 fans for the musician's three shows. Further Germany shows follow in Hamburg (23. and 24. July) and Munich (27. and 28. July).

This was her first tour in Germany since 'Was, existed', and the shows have been selling out in minutes, causing a global sensation. Gelsenkirchen is excited to host Taylor Swift and her opening act Paramore for two consecutive nights, expecting a total of 200,000 fans.
