Party in New York - Taylor Swift celebrates her 34th birthday with famous friends - but Travis Kelce is missing
2023 was Taylor Swift's year, there's no question about it. On her Eras tour, she thrilled her fans, also known as "Swifties", in numerous countries and cemented her superstar status even further. She was recently named "Person of the Year" by Time magazine. And her love life also brought Swift many headlines in the second half of the year.
Taylor Swift celebrates her 34th birthday in New York
The musician has been in a relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce for several months. But it was the sportsman, of all people, who was missing on Wednesday evening when Swift celebrated her 34th birthday in New York. Together with actress and friend Blake Lively, she appeared in a trendy New York restaurant, where the two met other mutual friends. Model Gigi Hadid was there, as was "Queer Eye" star Antoni Porowski, actor Miles Teller and musician Alana Haim. The party was then held in a nightclub.
In the run-up to her birthday, the US press speculated about Travis Kelce's alleged plans to throw his girlfriend a big party. Money was said to play no part in it. But Kelce stayed away from Wednesday's merry party. The reason was his commitments as one of the Kansas City Chiefs' most important players and his team's training, reported People magazine.
Travis Kelce is missing
Just recently, Kelce gushed about Swift in an interview. "I've never been a man of many words. Being around her and seeing how smart Taylor is was fucking mind-blowing. I'm learning every day," he told the Wall Street Journal. This also includes dealing with the public's interest.
As one of the most successful football stars in the USA, Kelce is used to attention, but not at this level. "Obviously I've never dated someone who has that kind of aura around them," he explained. "But at the same time, I'm not running away from anything. There's paparazzi outside her house every day, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she leaves, and she's just living and enjoying her life."
