Toxic social media star - Tate brothers may leave Romania, but not EU territory
The British-American influencer Andrew Tate (37) and his brother Tristan (35) are waiting in Romania for their trial - they are allowed to leave Romania, but not the European Union (EU) area, a Romanian court in the capital Bucharest decided, as confirmed by the brothers' lawyer to the news portal "libertatea.ro". The decision is not yet legally binding, the prosecution can file an appeal.
The Romanian justice accuses the Tates and two alleged accomplices of human trafficking and rape. They are accused of forcing young women to participate in commercially distributed sex videos. With manipulation techniques, they are said to have made the girls dependent on them.
