Sylvie Meis marks divorce with a wedding-themed post

Why not give a shout-out to the ex-spouse after the divorce? Sylvie Meis finds it fitting and even broadcasts the formal conclusion of her matrimonial bond with Niclas Castello. Frankly, there's cause for jubilation.

In 2020, Meis still thought this romance would stand the test of time. Yet here we are, two and a half years later, and Sylvie Meis and the artist Niclas Castello were already estranged. As per the "Bild" newspaper account, the quick-lived union of these two is now legally defunct. The couple, who were divorcing, supposedly presented themselves before the Family Court in Hamburg on a Monday. The report claims there was no animosity spoken during the proceedings. The divorce trial with the divorce judge is said to have lasted roughly 30 minutes, as the now-divorced pair had already addressed all issues prior.

Meis' admirers are reacting with a blend of bewilderment and excitement to the peaceful divorce. Some are puzzled with "WTF?" remarks, which stands for "What the fuck?" in free translation. Others respond with heart emoticons or write, "Better to be good friends than endure a bad marriage. Wishing you both a lot of happiness."

Love isn't always smooth sailing for Meis

Although sultry Sylvie Meis was crowned "Queen of the Century" by a Dutch men's magazine, her relationship with men isn't going smooth. In February 2023, she announced the split from Castello, and less than a year later, she was already with her new beau, the Dutch businessman Wim Beelen. "It's unfortunate, but we just don't mesh," she confirmed the breakup with brief statements on RTL. She removed all shared photos with her ex from Instagram.

From 2005 to 2013, Meis was married to former football star Rafael van der Vaart. They shares a son, Damian van der Vaart, who aspires to emulate his father's profession. He is the only man who appears on Meis' Instagram profile at present.
