Bitten by a spider - Sydney Sweeney experiences a scary moment on set
From January 18, 2024, Sydney Sweeney (26) can be seen in the romantic comedy "Where the Lie Falls" in the cinema. However, some parts of the shoot were not at all romantic, as the "Euphoria" star now reports. As Sweeney was bitten by a giant crab spider, she even thought she was going to die.
"Dramatic decision for a rom-com"
She was told before filming the scene that the spider had been trained, the 26-year-old explained on host Jimmy Fallon's (49) "The Tonight Show", as can be seen in a clip on the US celebrity portal "TMZ". As filming was already underway, her colleagues would not have realized at first that she had actually been bitten. The others probably thought at first that she had made "a really serious, dramatic decision for a rom-com" with her performance, but she can hardly believe it.
She screamed and only her co-star Glen Powell (35) realized that the whole thing was not an act. Fallon also shows footage of the incident. "She's biting me! She's biting me! She's really biting me!" screams Sweeney in the clip. The actress tells the host, "I thought I was going to die."
Sydney Sweeney really becomes Spider-Woman
As frightening as the whole thing was at first, especially for Sweeney, the team apparently handled the incident with humor. A paramedic noted: "Sydney Sweeney (cast department) bitten by spider, now Spider-Woman". At the time, her colleagues and the crew had no idea about "Madame Web", says the actress. She will actually be seen in the superhero film as Julia Carpenter/Spider-Woman in cinemas from February 14, 2024.
