Following his 2015 Oscar win for portraying physicist Stephen Hawking in "The Theory of Everything", British actor Eddie Redmayne (42) gained broader recognition. He became well-known for his role as Magizoologist Newt Scamander in the Harry Potter spin-off "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". According to recent reports, Redmayne is set to receive an unprecedented income for his role in the Sky series "The Day of the Jackal".

A New Take on a Classic Thriller

This series is a modern interpretation of the popular thriller penned by best-selling author Frederick Forsyth (86), first published in 1971 and later adapted into films in 1973 with Edward Fox (87) and again in 1997 with Bruce Willis (69) as the main character. The narrative revolves around a renowned hitman contracted to eliminate a prominent political figure.

According to the "British Mirror", Redmayne is slated to earn a substantial fee of one million pounds (around 1.2 million euros) per episode for his acting in the series adaptation. As per the report, this ten-episode thriller will set a new financial record for Sky's series production.
