Students Use Racist Phrases at Event
Recently, there have been more incidents brought to light following the scandal of a party video in Sylt. This time, it is said that students at a school in Schleswig-Holstein sang racist slogans to the tune of a 20-year-old techno hit. The authorities fear these incidents will inspire others to do the same.
The Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Education reported that young students sang racist slogans to the beat of the song "L'amour toujours" by Gigi D'Agostino during a party at a school. The teachers then ended the party and sent the students to their beds. The ministry has since ordered an investigation by the school supervisory authority, while the school itself plans to comment on the incident later in the day.
According to Speigel, the incident occurred at Louisenlund in Güby, one of the best private schools in Germany. The students were reportedly singing "Ausländer raus. Deutschland den Deutschen" when the song played. The school is now handling the situation pedagogically.
Education Minister Karin Prien commented on the matter, saying that "All students must understand that it is no joke to sing such slogans." She added that youthful energy or even alcohol consumption are no excuse for racially charged chants. Prien fears further imitations: "Young people have always broken social taboos."
Prior to this incident, a racist incident at a noble club on Sylt caused outrage nationwide. The short video showed several people dancing to the same song and singing "Deutschland den Deutschen - Ausländer raus!" One man could also be seen making a gesture that resembled the Hitler salute. However, there were no signs of anyone being disturbed by these actions. The Pony has filed a criminal complaint, and the state criminal police are currently investigating for incitement to hatred and the use of unconstitutional symbols.
In the past few months, there have been numerous instances where Nazi slogans were shouted while the song played, such as in Bavaria, Rhineland-Palatinate, Lower Saxony, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The incident of racist slogans being sung at a school in Schleswig-Holstein is not isolated, as similar incidents have been reported in Bavaria, Rhineland-Palatinate, Lower Saxony, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern recently. Education Minister Prien stresses that singing racist slogans is not a joke and is not excusable, even in the context of youthful energy or alcohol consumption.
