Music - Stones record has a good chance of winning "Album of the Year" title
The Rolling Stones ' latest album "Hackney Diamonds" has a good chance of being named "Album of the Year" in this year's Official German Charts. "We were told maybe," said frontman Mick Jagger in an interview with radio station SWR3 on Friday. "No matter what album you make - you never know if people are going to like it," said the 80-year-old. "It's always a bit of a gamble." The album "Hackney Diamonds" is the world-famous rock band's eleventh number one album in total.
The record was released on October 20 and is the Rolling Stones' first complete album with new songs since 2005. Jagger is confident that the next album will be finished soon. "We don't have a complete album yet, but we have maybe 75 percent of the songs," says Jagger. Since completing the album, he has been writing new material.
The world-famous rock band recently announced that they would be going back on tour with the album. However, there are no dates for Germany yet. "We'll probably do the US tour and then we might go back into the studio," Jagger said in the interview.
GfK Entertainment calculates the Official German Charts every year. In 2022, "Zeit" by the band Rammstein was named "Album of the Year".
