The reason he appreciates Taylor Swift. - Steve Carell expresses admiration for Taylor Swift.
On a recent episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," actor Steve Carell (61) revealed his admiration for Taylor Swift (34). Jimmy Fallon (49) had read somewhere that the comedy actor was a fan of the singer, a Swiftie. Carell shared an unheard-of story of their brief encounter.
"Sweet and Nice"
Carell introduced himself as someone who had met Taylor Swift before she became a phenomenon. He explained that he was at MTV's "TRL" at the beginning of both their careers. While a little older, they crossed paths casually. He recalled Swift as being especially gifted and kind: "She was very sweet, very nice."
Decades later, Steve Carell stumbled upon a video of Swift on the internet - this time as a superstar. Her thoughtful acts, like visiting a child in a hospital, particularly stood out. While he appreciates her empathy, he joked that his own politeness was just a show. "I'm nice, but not on Taylor Swift's level," the father of two jokes. "I'm just putting on a front. It's Hollywood stuff. Wait until the cameras are gone."
The comedian gained popularity in the US with "The Office." He's married to actress Nancy Carell (57) and has two children. Carell returns to the big screen as Gru in "I'm Not Perfect 4," to be released on July 11. He lends his voice to the main character.
